Position Summary: Under the Director of Clothing and Thrift Ministry, the Clothing Sorter is responsible for receiving, sorting and replenishing all clothing needs in The Gospel Mission Thrift Store.
Reports to: Director of Clothing and Thrift Ministry
Exempt/ Non Exempt: Non Exempt
Required: Must be willing to sign the Gospel Mission Statement of Faith; and Marriage and Sexuality Statement and must be a member of a local Bible believing church.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Receives all clothing donations that are dropped off by donors.
a. Receives all clothing donations that have been received by Warehouse.
b. Receives all clothing donations that are dropped off by donors in front of Clothing Center.
2. Sorts through clothing and distributes to most appropriate destination.
a. Sorts clothes and puts those clothes that belong to baler in the bale area.
b. Sorts clothes and puts those clothes that will be sold in store in the store pile.
c. Sorts clothes and puts in appropriate area based off whether men, women, and kids.
d. Sorts clothes and puts in appropriate pricing area based off of pricing guidelines.
3. Takes over racks of clothing to the Main Thrift Store and replenishes clothing where needed.
a. Checks to see the inventory of clothes in Thrift Store and fills as needed.
b. Works with Director of Clothing and Thrift Ministry on clothing displays and filling them.
4. Over sees the volunteers in the clothing area
a. Trains all volunteers on how to sort and hang clothes.
b. Trains volunteers on where to put clothing racks in store.
5. Maintains a clean and safe environment.
6. Provides excellent customer service to all guests who come into our Thrift Store.
7. Works at the service counter helping customers with their purchases.
Education and Experience
1. Required: High School Diploma or GED
2. Preferred: Previous experience working in retail
Skills/License/Certifications
· Basic knowledge of name brand clothes
Physical Demands/ Work Environment
· Indoors (Ability to walk steps, controlled climate)
· Able to stand, walk for 8 hours
· Must be able to lift and/ or move items that are 50lbs or more
· May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset customers

This job will be Tuesday - Saturday, 9:30am-6:00pm. The pay will range from $15-$18 per hour, based on experience.
