Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of the Women and Children Shelter, the Resident Counselor is responsible in providing support to all residents (Women and Women with Children), as well as assisting the Director of the Women and Children Shelter in daily tasks.

Reports to: Director of Women and Children Shelter

Required: Must be willing to sign the Gospel Mission Statement of Faith; and Marriage and Sexuality Statement, and must be a member of a local Bible believing church.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Treat all guests with dignity and respect while being sensitive to diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
2. Share and rightly divide the Gospel when ministering and witnessing to guests.
3. Answer phones in a professional manner.
4. Conduct intakes and complete all necessary paperwork thoroughly.
5. Verify guest on bed list and make sure lights are out at 10 pm.
6. Maintain daily logs
7. Conduct breathalyzers to all guests when returning to campus.
8. Monitor the safety of residents
9. Ensure a clean area

Education and Experience

1. Required: High School Diploma or GED
2. Preferred: Previous experience in Christian leadership
3. Preferred: 2+ years experience in work field of changing and challenging environment

Skills/License/Certifications

• Computer: Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365, Word, Excel

• Valid Driver’s License

Physical Demands/ Work Environment

• Office (Primarily sitting at desk, walking, and bending)

• Indoors (Ability to walk steps, controlled climate)

• Maybe subject to hostile and emotionally upset guests or customers
