At Last, a Warm and Joyful Christmas
"For many, last Christmas was a lonely time with heartache and hunger," says Randy Ehlers, Executive Director of The Gospel Mission. "Now, with a warm, safe place to sleep, eat and heal, there is reason to celebrate."
This Christmas Day, The Gospel Mission will serve over 400 of our homeless neighbors a traditional holiday feast—complete with ham, mashed potatoes, pie, and all the fixings. But what happens on December 25th is about far more than food on a plate.
More Than a Meal
For someone sleeping in the cold, Christmas can feel like the loneliest day of the year. The contrast between their reality and the warmth others experience deepens the pain of isolation.
That's why our Christmas celebration includes not just a meal, but a full day of fellowship and worship. We'll gather in the chapel for worship and singing—a time when God's love for us shines bright at Christmas. The place will be decorated, gifts will be handed out bringing joy and surprise to the children, and the entire Mission family will celebrate together.
"Through the Chapel services and the special Christmas dinner you provide, you are truly making Christmas bright for men, women and children," Ehlers notes.
The Bible teaches us to love our homeless neighbors by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ while meeting their physical needs. Our Christmas celebration embodies this holistic approach, creating space for conversation, prayer, and connection that can open hearts to the transforming power of the Gospel.
Your Impact: $2.75 Changes Everything
For just $2.75, you can provide a warm Christmas meal for someone experiencing homelessness.
Less than the cost of a coffee ensures that someone doesn't spend Christmas hungry and alone. When you multiply that impact across 400+ people, you're demonstrating the love of Christ to an entire community of hurting neighbors.
Every donation makes a direct impact:
$2.75 provides one complete Christmas meal
$27.50 feeds ten neighbors
$110 ensures forty people experience Christmas dinner
$275 provides warm holiday meals for 100 people
"The Mission team can't do the work that God has given us without the generous support of our donors," says Ehlers. "To those of you who have committed in your heart to invest in the work of The Gospel Mission, I thank you!"

There Is Reason to Celebrate
Physical hunger is real and immediate. But there's a deeper hunger that drives people to our doors—a hunger for reconciliation with God. People are separated from God because of sin, and that brokenness manifests in addiction, family conflict, and homelessness. Our Christmas meal is often the first step in addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of those God brings to us.
Will you help us make Christmas bright for our homeless neighbors? For just $2.75, you can provide a warm Christmas meal and demonstrate the love of Christ to someone who desperately needs to experience it.
