I had an experience I don’t think anyone should have to experience.
4 years ago my daughter was a witness to a drug deal that turned into a murder, and I was sitting in a prison cell. I understood the true definition of powerlessness just then. That’s when I made a decision, a decision that was also encouraged by a good friend of mine after I got out of prison. My friend was encouraging me to come to services, he helped me change my way of life.
In May of 2022, this friend took his own life. He wanted to be a Pastor. It took me a long time to understand a new way of life, to surrender, to believe in Jesus, to believe He was that water walker. He is everything He speaks of, and I’m proof of that.
I stopped focusing on all the negativity in life, and I started focusing on all the miracles. And I have a miracle that walks with me every day. I’m a father of four children. I have other children that you could just say they were kidnapped.
I’m a Winnebago Tribal Member, and I asked these people for help when I was in a bad way with my health. I almost went into a diabetic coma, and I had two slipped herniated discs in my back, I couldn’t walk. And they took my children from me. I’ve lost my mind before, I’ve ended up in prison, in a bad way.
I came a long way from drugs, from alcohol, from being able to speak up for myself in a good way. And to being able to keep the faith, without Jesus I’d have lost my mind by now. The psychological pain that we’ve been going through was unbearable but through Jesus I am able to wake up every day and live life, and be a father to my daughter. That’s enough, and enough solid proof that Jesus is in my life, and He’s walking with me today. I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.
