Welcome! We’re excited to introduce Virtuous Volunteer (VOMO), our new
online volunteer platform designed to make serving easier, clearer, and more
connected than ever before. Whether you’re a new volunteer or have been serving
with us for years, this platform helps you sign up for opportunities, view schedules,
and stay informed—all in one place.

Why We’re Using Virtuous Volunteer

Virtuous Volunteer helps us honor our mission by caring well for those
who serve, allowing you to:

  • View and sign up for volunteer opportunities online
  • See real-time schedules and openings
  • Receive reminders and important updates
  • Track your volunteer involvement
  • Stay connected with our mission

Our goal is to make volunteering simple, organized, and meaningful, allowing
volunteers to serve with purpose and compassion.

To Our Recurring & Faithful Volunteers!

If you volunteer with us on a regular basis, your spot has already been reserved on our calendar.
If you don’t see your regularly scheduled serving time available after you create an account,
don’t worry—Becky has saved your spot for you. Once you register, Becky will go in and add
you to the calendar. Please remember that each volunteer will need to create an account.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Serving together is a powerful way to reflect the love of Christ. If your church group, youth group, confirmation class, business, or organization is interested in volunteering at The Gospel Mission, please complete the Volunteer Group Form below.

Submitting this form allows our team to review your request, coordinate scheduling, and follow up with next steps.

How to Create a Volunteer Account

Getting started is easy!

Visit our Virtuous Volunteer Hub Here.

  • Click the “Join” button.
  • Choose how you would like to create an account.
  • Enter your information + create a password
  • Click "Create Account"
  • After creating your account, you will be asked to fill out a few of our Mission volunteer forms.

Wait for Approval

  • Once you have registered, Mission staff will review your information. Please allow at least 1 day for approval.
  • Once your request has been processed & approved, the “Requested” button will disappear on our hub. Make sure to revisit the hub.
  • After approval, you will be able to join opportunities to volunteer at the Mission.

Items to Note

  • Once approved, you can sign up for opportunities under each ministry.
  • If something comes up and you’re unable to serve, please find your shift in the hub and select “Leave Opportunity.” Whenever possible, please let us know at least 2 days in advance so we have time to fill the spot and ensure our guests are well cared for.
  • A copy of our Volunteer Position Description, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Marriage and Sexuality can found here.

How to View Volunteer Schedules & Sign Up

After logging into your Virtuous Volunteer account:

  • Navigate to the Calendar tab on the Volunteer Hub here
  • Click on an opportunity to view details.
  • For available times for the specific opportunity, scroll to the bottom of the page.
  • Select the date/time you’d like to serve.
  • Click Apply, answer any Additional Questions, then click Confirm to be added to that time slot.

After applying to that time slot, you’ll receive a confirmation email and reminder emails as your scheduled date approaches.

View available opportunities by month or by week under the calendar tab.

Volunteer Expectations

We ask all volunteers to:

  • Arrive on time and ready to serve
  • Communicate if you’re unable to attend
  • Treat guests, staff, and fellow volunteers with kindness and respect
  • Serve with a heart aligned to our mission

Volunteer Q & A

Do I need an account to volunteer?
Yes. All volunteers are asked to create an account in Virtuous Volunteer so we can communicate clearly, manage schedules, and ensure a safe and organized experience.

I’ve volunteered before—do I need to sign up again?
Yes. Even returning volunteers will need to create an account in the new system.

Can I volunteer with a friend or group?
Absolutely! Each volunteer should have their own account, but you can coordinate sign-ups for the same opportunity and shift.

How will I know when I’m scheduled?
You can view your schedule anytime by logging into your account. You’ll also receive email reminders before your scheduled shift.

What if I need to cancel?
If something comes up, please log in to your account and remove yourself from the shift as soon as possible so another volunteer can serve.
