Justin's Growth
Justin came into our care with an addiction to alcohol and he has now remained sober for over 9 months. That is the longest he has gone without a drink since the alcohol addiction took over his life.
Justin began attending Elevate Church. One of the first times he attended, the pastor was speaking about the issues he had been dealing with. It felt like he was speaking directly to him! He was hearing exactly what he needed to hear! They were a very welcoming church, and they passed no judgment on him.
What he enjoys most about going to church is connecting with people outside of his normal group of friends. He has been part of a small group that meets on Thursday nights. This has really helped him to share his problems with others. He looks forward to all the activities planned for their small group.
Between the church services, small group meetings at Elevate, chapel services, and devotions at The Gospel Mission, Justin can now easily apply what he is learning from the Bible to his life today.
Justin states he has less anger and frustration. Many situations that would have caused those feelings, he can now brush off and move on. He knows things are happening for a reason, and God is in control of his life! He believes once he moves out on his own, he will be able to lean on his church family and small group to help him be accountable. They will be there to help him when that need arises.
Justin is working on gaining his GED. He’s currently applying for jobs but is being patient in the process. He desires to find a job he enjoys, rather than chase one with a higher wage. Please join us in praying for Justin’s continued success!
And to hear that an internet salesman, knocking on his door, would lead his life to where it is now!
